JANET BONNEAU grew up on a farm in Sheldon, Vermont surrounded by the beauty of Vermont mountains, rivers, and fields. She enjoys working directly from nature and most of her landscapes are painted outdoors en plein aire. She finds inspiration through all the seasons, particularly fall and winter. Her paintings are best described as impressionistic and colorful with lively brushwork.
Janet received her art training at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland, and continues a course of self-study through daily painting and drawing. "I feel the most cetnered when I'm out painting the local countryside. I try and capture that one thing about the scene that first caught my eye and how it made me feel. It's helpful to be familiar with the place you're painting and so I often visit the same places but in different seasons. But sometimes the beauty is in your own backyard which is why I also just love painting in the woods around my house." Janet also enjoys teaming up with her "painting buddies" for outdoor painting sessions whenever possible.
