Sappy Art Show Submission Guidelines
This exhibit is open to Vermont artists working in any 2 dimensional or 3 dimensional media.
For inclusion in this exhibit, your work must reflect this year’s theme:
“Vermont Maple - Bringing Families Together”
DROPOFF DEADLINE
All artwork must be labeled and delivered to Village Frame Shoppe by 4:00 pm on April 15, 2025
Please Note: Drop-off Hours are Tuesday - Friday 11-4 and Saturday 11-1

EXHIBITION DATES
April 20 - May 10
COMMISSION
The gallery will retain a 50% commission on all artwork sold during this exhibit.
PICKUP
May 13 - May 17 - 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.Each piece of artwork must not be larger than 16x20 (Size does not include the frame).
Cash prizes will be awarded for Best of Show, as well as 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Honorable Mention awards will also be given in each of the following categories:

Cash Prizes will be awarded for:
Best of Show: $100 + $50 Gift Certificate to Village Frame Shoppe
1st Place: $75
2nd Place: $50
3rd Place: $30
Honorable Mention: awarded in each category - $20
People's Choice: 1/2 Gallon of Vermont Maple Syrup
Submission Limits
You may submit only one piece of artwork per category, with a maximum of 4 pieces.
Maximum size is 16x20 (Size does not include the frame).
All artwork must be framed and wired, ready to hang.
(Sawtooth hooks and clip hangers are not acceptable.)
Entry labels must be attached to the back of your frame in the upper left corner.
You must register each piece of artwork online by April 14, 2025. (see registration link below)
Your entry labels and inventory sheet will be emailed to you upon completion of your online registration.
The inventory sheet must be signed and delivered to the gallery along with your artwork on one of the drop-off dates.
While it is our desire to include all artwork submitted to this exhibit, we reserve the right to refuse any work that does not meet these guidelines. This includes artwork that is not properly prepared for hanging or display, artwork that is submitted past the deadline, and artwork that does not fit any of the exhibit’s categories. It is in your best interest to follow these submission guidelines as you prepare your artwork for exhibit.
While all due care will be taken with the artist’s work, neither the Village Frame Shoppe & Gallery nor the Vermont Maple Festival assumes any liability for loss or damage that may occur. Artists are encouraged to provide their own insurance on artwork. All artwork submitted to this competition remains the sole property of the artist. By entering this exhibit, you agree that the Vermont Maple Festival, Inc. Board of Trustees and Village Frame Shoppe has the right to use your entry in its publications, educational programs, and publicity efforts without requiring additional compensation. Submission of artwork constitutes your acceptance of all terms listed here.
